Son of Emmanuel Allen and Nancy Tucker.
ALLEN, BENJAMIN LEVI – Born May 24, 1842, near Cross Anchor. Enlisted March, 1861, Cross Anchor Co., 3rd S.C. Reg., Capt. T.B. FERGUSON. Wounded at Gettysburg July 2, 1863. Farmer. “I had two older brothers, Sergeant GARLAND ALLEN who fell before Richmond in the seven days fight, and Lieut. WADE ALLEN, who was wounded at Knoxville, Tenn., captured and was sent to Fort Delaware, where he died. I was wounded at Gettysburg and was discharged from active service.”
