George V. Lloyd Jr., 99, of Rock Falls, died Monday. May 31, 2010, at Sterling Pavilion Nursing Home. He operated numerous service stations in the area before retiring.
Mr. Lloyd was born March 23, 1911, in McClave, Colo., the son of George and Bertha Mae (Lee) Lloyd.
He married Lily Gant on Aug. 4, 1931, in Winfield, Kan.
Survivors include his wife of Rock Falls; two daughters, Georgie (Paul) Ross of Leesburg, Fla., and Lois (Merle) Gray of Rock Falls; one son, Doug Lloyd of Kansas; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, five sisters, and three grandchildren.
Graveside service will be at 12:15 p.m. Thursday at Coloma Township Cemetery, Rock Falls, with the Rev. Brian Vickers of Rock River Christian Center officiating.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon Thursday at McDonald Funeral Home, Rock Falls.
