A sad accident occured 3/4 of a mile southeast of this place, in which Mr Aaron F Baker, a prominent and wealthy retired farmer, of this place was killed, aged 58.

He was on his way to his son, B F Baker's place, driving a spirited horse in a road cart, when at the foot of a steep hill near H W Hoffmaster's place, the horse commenced kicking and broke away from the cart, throwing Mr Baker with violent force upon the ground and killing him almost instantly.

Mr Baker never held any public office, but was a long and consistent member of the U B Church in this place. The funeral services will be held in the same by Rev E C B Castle on Thursday afternoon at 2 pm.

Mr Baker's sad and sudden death is mourned by a wife, two sons; Benjamin F on the home farm near this place and Albert of Baltimore and Mrs Charles Thomas of this place; Three brothers; Ezra, of this place; John and Frederick of Hagerstown; Mrs J S Deantt, this place; Mrs Hedges, Frederick and Mrs Shuly of Indiana.

Messrs. N G Thomas, D R Bovey, S H Clopper and Fred Wyand will be pallbearers.
