Warrens's mother was Mrs. Angie Adams, of 509 East Main St., Hominy, OK, in 1946. Siblings were Pat, George, Johnnie and Alma. He attended Hominy High School and was a member of the Presbyterian Church. Warren was a gas station attendant, helping to support his widowed mother, when he enlisted in the U. S. Army on August 13, 1940, and served in Troop G, 5th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division. He was outstanding among non-commissioned officers in combat during the campaign on Leyte, and was recommended for promotion to second lieutenant. First Sergeant Warren was wounded March 2, 1944, during the Los Negros campaign in the Philippines and was killed in action on Luzon, Philippines.
