Mildred Laura (Boxwell) Borg was one of the authors of a 52-page typewritten family genealogy document, Moore Genealogy, by Alma Belle Lacock and Mildred Laura (Boxwell) Borg, published 1979, Sioux City, Iowa. The authors were first cousins. Alma B. Lacock (1901-1988 never married) was born in 1901 to Milo Lacock and Laura Laurinda (Moore) Lacock b. 1881. Alma’s maternal grandparents were Timothy Olmsted Moore b. 1855 and Harriett Emma (Kidwell) Moore. Mildred Laura (Boxwell) Borg (1900-2004) was born November 18, 1900 to John L. Boxwell and Anna Belle (Moore) Boxwell b. 1879. Mildred’s maternal grandparents were Timothy Olmsted Moore b 1855 and Harriett Emma (Kidwell) Moore. Mildred was born November 18, 1900 at Linn County, Iowa to John Boxwell and Annie Belle (Moore) Boxwell. She was one of five children that grew up on the family farm in Linn County, Iowa: Mildred Boxwell b. 1900, m. George Borg; Willard Boxwell b. 1902; Prudence Boxwell b. 1904, m. 1st Clarence Adams, m. 2nd Jesse Baker; Forest Boxwell b. 1910, m. Emily Kravarik; Ruby Boxwell b. 1919, m. Eldon Kitchen.

Mildred attended Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa, receiving her B. S. Degree in Home Economics. She attended one summer at Drake University, Desmoines, Iowa. In 1950 Mildred received her M. A. Degree at the School of Speech, Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois with her major in Oral Interpretation of Literature. She taught grade school, junior and senior high in Iowa and Illinois, and served on the Home Economics Extension Staff of North Dakota Agricultural College, Fargo, North Dakota, and of the University of Illinois, Urbana, Illinois. Mildred was a director of Consumer Education in the Public Relations Department of Sears Roebuck and Company in Chicago.

Later in life Mildred Laura Boxwell married George Borg who was a commercial artist. In 1960 they lived in St. Charles, Illinois. He died April 16, 1973 and was buried at Linn Grove Cemetery, Linn County, Iowa. Mildred died 31 years later at the age of 103 and was buried with a shared headstone at Linn Grove Cemetery.
