Bellwood Man Dies - A complete shock to his family and and friends was the sudden death of Joseph Frank Mick, 54, well-known farmer residing three miles west of Bellwood, whose death occurred 3:10 a.m. today at his home.

Mr. Mick was stricken with a heart attack early last evening, and died several hours later of recurring attacks. He was born on a farm in Butler county, five miles south of Columbus, on Apr. 25, 1881 and spent his entire life in that county.

On Feb 5, 1907, he was united in marriage to Miss Minnie Sprunk, of Polk county, at St. Andrew's Church in that neighborhood, and they established their home on a the farm where he was residing at the time of his death.

He was a devout member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, of Bellwood. Besides his widow, he is survived by three sons, Joseph, Lewis Edward, and Walter all of Bellwood; two daugthers Misses Augusta Agnes and Eileen Louise of Bellwood; two grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Seidel of St. Paul, and Mrs. A Rohrick, of Bellwood.

Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter's Church, burial will be in the Luxemburg Cemetery. The body is at the McKown Funeral Home and will be taken to the family home at 7 a.m. tomorrow morning, where he will lie in state until the hour of the funeral.

Joseph F. Mick was born April 25,1881 on a farm south of Columbus, Nebr. in Butler County. At the age of four his parents, Joseph and Caroline Mick, moved to the farm he grew to manhood on, raised his family on, and lived there till his death.

His wife Minnie Sprunk Mick was born Dec. 3, 1886 south of Bellwood, Nebr. They were married on February 5, 1907 at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Polk County. Six children were born to this union: Joseph, Ferdinand who died in infancy, Louis, Augusta, Walter and Ilene.

In 1926, they built a new house on the farm. This is the house currently being used today. On June 3, 1935 Joseph F. died of an apparent heart attack at the age of 54. His death in the mid thirties was during a period of drought, depression, and hardships which left his wife Minnie to carry on through still more years of drought and depression.
