The following was written by Diane Watson Johnson:

Robert "Bob" Beaglehole was a well known and respected auto mechanic and race car driver throughout Michigan.

Bob raced his corvette(s) at the Detroit Speedway, leaving his competitor's in the dust and race fans on their feet!

His skill as a mechanic was soon realized by General Motors.

When Bob would not divulge, how he was able to "fine tune" his "vette" to out perform it's competition, he was offered specialty mechanic position with GM.

He worked for General Motors, working his way into a executive position before he retired.

He was loved by Detroit car enthusiasts, including John DeLorean.

Mr. DeLoren gave the eulogy at Bob's gravesite, driving up in a red corvette, reminiscent of the one Bob raced and designed.

These were two humble kids from Detroit, who shared a passion and love of high performance
cars.

Bob was also a talented artist.

He served his country proudly as a Navy Seabee.

Beloved husband of Ann, sharing nearly 55 years of marriage.
Dear son of Margaret (Tharge) Beaglehole.
Loving father of Cheryl (Dean) Couretas and Lynne Swit.
Dear grandfather of Catherine Couretas and Lydea Swit.
Loving brother of Nancy Rathbun.

Cherished by many nieces and nephews (especially his niece, Diane Watson Johnson).

Preceded in death by his father; Wilfred Henry Beaglehole.
He was also preceded by his Aunt Bertha (Beaglehole) and her husband Bernard A. Trathen, who had raised him.

In keeping with Bob's wishes, cremation has taken place with internment at White Chapel Memorial Park Cemetery, Troy, Michigan.
