HAMILTON, Grace V. of Alger, Michigan. Grace V. Hamilton, age 90, a longtime resident of Alger, died May 26, 2010. She was born December 24, 1919 to Raymond and Anna (Allan) Garrity in Alger, Ml. On July 21, 1941, Grace married Ralph C. Hamilton. He preceded her in death in July 1946. She was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Garrity; three sisters: Irene (Arch) Fales, Ruth White, and Bernice (Max) Bell; and one sister-in-law, Erma Franklin. Grace is survived by her three children: Kay (Larry) Keller of Alpena, Thomas R. Hamilton of Warren, and Ralph C. (Lona) Hamilton of Clare. She has five grandsons: Cary, Ryan (Marianne), and Kyle Keller, plus Ralph C. (Shelley) and Travis (Heather) Hamilton. And ten great grandchildren: Sarah, Andy, Kristin, Kayla, Courtney, Mia, Jason, Ralph IV, Nicole, and Clarke. She is also survived by two sisters, Lydia (George) Dunn and Margaret (Bruce) Freeburn; and three brothers-in-law: Gerald White, Robert Hamilton, and William (Lena) Hamilton and many nieces and nephews. Grace served as Post Master in Alger for 31 years, retiring in January 1980, dividing her time in Arizona and Alger. She enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, and traveling. Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 30, 2010 at 1 p.m. at Savage Funeral Home in Standish. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, also for one hour before the service.
