Daughter of Fred and Anna (Ackelbein) Bockelmann. She completed high school and earned a 2-year teaching certificate, teaching in rural schools until she married Walter Hinrichsen in 1935 in Charter Oak, Iowa. She was a cook at Colorado State University for 10 years, and also worked at a local flower shop for five years and was a homemaker. Mrs. Hinrichsen enjoyed sewing and quilting. She was active in St. John's Lutheran Church.
Survived by one son, Jon L. Hinrichsen of Littleton; three daughters; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
