Walter Green Browder is the son of James Albert and Mary Annabelle Edmondson Browder. Walter married Minnie Mattie Cunningham on November 7, 1913 in DeKalb County, Alabama, they had six known children: James Albert Browder, Wallace Browder, Walter Browder, Johnnie Winston Browder, Ernest Browder and Bernice Browder.

Walter Green Browder, 71, died Saturday, October 26, while a patient at DeKalb County General Hospital. Browder was a textile worker by occupation and was affiliated with the Baptist Church. He was a native and life-long resident of DeKalb County.

Funeral services were conduced from the chapel of Wilson Funeral Home Monday, October 28, Rev. Charles R. Casey officiated and Wilson directed interment in Glenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Albert Denson, David Johnson, Milford Jones, Edward Black, Crowley Lessley, and Carm Newsome.

Survivors include: his wife, Mrs. Minnie Browder, of Fort Payne; four sons, Wallace Browder, of Detroit, Mich., Willie W. Browder, of Marietta, Ga., Johnnie W. Browder of Toledo, Ohio, and Ernest Browder, of Fort Payne; one daughter, Mrs. Bernice Hammond, of Detroit, Mich.; two brothers, Wallace Browder, of Cookville, Tenn., and Joe Tabor Browder, of Nedham, Mass.; two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Pell of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Mrs. Pauline Black, of Fort Payne; and 11 grandchildren.
