Goldie Leona Mace was born to William Alonzo Mace and Verna Lynn Fletcher. Her brothers and sisters are William Tosco, Harold Alonzo, Fay, Sylvia Iola (Pickett), Vernie Virgil, Purlie Myrle, Myrlie Donald, Eva M. (Coughlan) and Earl Floyd.

She died young at her home during a typhoid fever epidemic with her mother.
