Felix C. Smith

Felix C. Smith, 84, of 17 1/2 N. Hickory St., died in Chillicothe Hospital at 8:30 p.m. Friday after an extended illness.

Born on June 24, 1877 in Ross County, he was the son of Felix and Phebe Michaels Smith. In 1989, he married Viola Gilbert. On Oct. 24, 1922, he married Mattie Hall, who survives.

Additional survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Frances Bowers, Mrs. Eileen Stonerock and Mrs. Jane Boler, all of Chillicothe, and Walter Smith, Cincinnati; two step daughters, Mrs. Perry Van Hooser, Route 4, and Mrs. Hubert Cottrill, Chillicothe; a stepson, William R. Smith, Los Angeles, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Jane Willis, Columbus; a brother, Samuel Smith, Yellowbud; 20 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased in by three brothers and a sister.

Mr. Smith was a retired farmer and a member of the Spring Bank Methodist Church.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the Fawcett-Oliver Funeral Home, with the Rev. Robert T. Hardy officiating. Burial will be in Spring Bank Cemetery.

Friends may call the funeral home after 4 p.m. Sunday.
