Harley Ernest Barker married Winona Delight Strickland on 6 October 1923 in Davis co., Iowa. They were the parents of Mary Elizabeth and Bennie Leon Barker.

Uncle Harley was good with his hands. He made the cutest wooden animals, one of which is a dog I have. They owned and ran "Midway" a combination gas station, resturant, ice cream parlor, and grocery store on the highway between Ottumwa, Iowa and Bloomfield, Iowa all the years I was growing up. When they "retired" it was to Eldon to run another ice cream parlor. Finally retiring completely, they moved to Union Grove to be near their daughter and her family.
