Nov. 12, 1906
This morning occurred the death of James O. Bird, son of Ochmig Birg, who is well known here. The deceased is a veteran of the civil war and served in the army of the Tennessee. While in service he contracted a disease which gradually affected his mind. About twelve years ago he became insane and was taken to the Richmond insane asylum, where his death occurred. The disease which caused him to lose his mind gradually affected his physical health and finally caused his death. W. S. O'Rourke has full charge of his property in this city, which is considerable.
The deceased leaves besides his father, one sister, Mrs. M. L. Bulger, of Chicago.
The remains will be brought here for burial, but funeral arrangements have not yet been made.
