Henry Lovett Bailey was born on September 17, 1912 on Simpsons Run, Lewis County, WV. He was the fifth child, first son of Samuel Henry Bailey and Amy Bessie Lovett Bailey. He was a graduate of Weston High School, Weston, WV and West Virginia University, Morgantown, WV.
He married Mildred Irene Malott on Feb., 1939, in Morgantown, WV. They had one daughter, Bette Ruth Bailey. He married second in June, 1958 to Ellen E. Tranter in Warren, PA. They had three sons, Samuel H. Bailey II, James T. Bailey & Richard W. Bailey.
He was a science teacher in Jamestown, NY.
He died December 13, 1957 at W.C.A. Hospital.

JAMESTOWN HIGH SCHOOL SCIENCE TEACHER DIES
Henry L. Bailey 53, a science teacher at Jamestown High School, was pronounced dead on arrival at W.C.A. Hospital at 2:20 p.m. Wednesday, December 13, 1967.
Mr. Bailey, a JHS faculty member for the past 10 years became ill during class.
He was born September 17, 1912, in Weston, WV and made his home in this area for 18 years, living in Warren for the past 10 years.
Mr. Bailey was graduated from West Virginia University at Morgantown, WV, and was a member of the Jamestown Teachers Association and the N.Y.S. Teachers Association. He had pursued advance studies at West Virginia University, Penn State University and Allegheny College. Last summer he received a grant from the National Science Foundation for concentration studies in petrology and geomorphology at Bowling Green University, OH.
He also was commissioned a member of the State Police in Crawford and Erie Counties in Pennsylvania. Mr. Bailey was a member of the First Methodist Church in Warren where he belonged to the Adult Fellowship Class and the Commission on Evangelism, was an usher and formerly a member of the Official Board and a past President of Methodist Men.
Mr. Bailey is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ellen Tranter Bailey and four children, Mrs. Bette Hones, Edinboro, PA; and Samuel H. Bailey, James T.Bailey and Richard W. Bailey, all at home; his father, Samuel H. Bailey, Weston; seven brothers and sisters, Mrs. Linda Kacinec and Wayne Bailey, both of Dayton, OH; Lee Bailey, Mrs. Jesse Singleton, Mrs. Reva Butcher and Mrs. Hazel Bennett all of Weston and Mrs. Mae Gaines, Clarksburg, WV; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. in the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home in Warren. The Rev. James G. Cousin, pastor at First Methodist Church, Warren, will officiate. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Warren. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7-9 p.m. today and from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday. (Jamestown, NY or Warren, PA, newspaper Dec. 1967)
