He was born April 28, 1919 in Escalante, Utah to James Ira McInelly and Eliza Alvey. James was a veteran of World War II.
After returning home from the war, he married his sweetheart, Retha E. Barker, on July 3, 1946. The marriage was later solemnized in the Jordan River Temple on July 27, 2002.
He worked for Kennecott Copper and retired after thirty years of service. James loved his nieces and nephews. He had a great love for fishing trips with his wife. He had a passion for animals and took pride in his garden and yard.
Preceded in death by parents; wife, Retha; brother, Lester (Golda) McInelly; sisters, Eva (Rex) Allen; Ada (Alferd) Heaps; Sarah (Ron) Schow; Edith McInelly; Lucille (Ivan) Davenport.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at Goff Mortuary, 8090 South State Street (100 East). Friends may call from 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to the services.
Interment: Redwood Memorial Estates.
