LOCAL WOMAN CALLED BY DEATH
Catherine Vogel Aldrich Dies Of Stroke February 17th

Funeral services were conducted Monday at 9:30 at St. Gall's Catholic Church in Tintah for Mrs. James E Aldrich who died last Thursday morning, February 17th from a stroke suffered two weeks ago. A Requiem High Mass was sung by Father Leo Revering.
Catherine Laurence Vogel was born October 13, 1864 at Holdesborg, Pennsylvania, and was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fredrich Vogel.
She came to Star Lake, Minn. with her parents when she was fifteen years old and they homesteaded near there.
On November 23, 1884, she was married to James E Aldrich at St. Joe's Church near Perham.
Eleven children were born to this union, eight of whom are still living.
In 1903, Mr. and Mrs. Aldrich came to Wilkin county and made their home in this vicinity almost the entire forty six years. At the time of her death Mrs. Aldrich and her husband were making their home with their daughter, Mrs. Catherine Downey at Duluth.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Aldrich is survived by the following eight children: Fred of Nashua, George of Perham, Mrs. Frank Downey (Gertrude) of Duluth, Mrs. Kathryn Downey at home, Joseph of Nashua, Mrs. Fred Eyestone of Nashua, Edward of Santa Ana, James of Campbell, one sister Susan Vogal of Dumont and a brother, Will Vogel of Las Angeles, California, also twenty two grandchildren and twenty great grandchldren. Three children preceeded her in death. They are Mary, Leo and Margaret.
Following the requiem high mass, Mrs. Aldrich was laid to rest in the St. Gall's Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jack Keaveny, John Cooper, Peter Koltes. Fred Hasse Sr., Lester Thompson and J M Nash all of Nashua.
Out of town relatives attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Geo Aldrich and son of Perham, Mrs. Frank Downey of Duluth, Ed Aldrich of Santa Ana, Lt Margaret Aldrich of Denver, Colorado, Catherine Downey, RN of Elkhorn, Wis., Clifford Vogel and Mrs. Fred Brown of Dent, Judge and Mrs. Chas Vogel and Martin and Phillip Vogel of Fargo, Susan Vogel of Dumont, Joan Aldrich of Campbell and James Aldrich of Sauk Center
