She began her teaching career at Lunenburg High School in 1955 and taught there for six years. After taking time off to bring up her three sons, she returned to work and taught at the former Holy Family High School in Fitchburg for 13 years. In 1979, she began teaching Chemistry, Latin and French at St. Bernard's Central Catholic High School in Fitchburg and taught there for 30 years until her retirement 2008. In 2005, the St. Bernard's High School yearbook was dedicated to her as she was selected as the Teacher of the Year.
Paulette enjoyed most doing for and giving to others which were evident in the numerous lives she touched through education. She loved to cook, entertain, travel, shop, read and the theater.
Her husband of 36 years, Peter W. Grenier, died in 1991. She leaves three sons, Peter D. Grenier, of Seoul, S. Korea, David N. Grenier and his wife, Julie of Westminster and Michael J. Grenier, and his wife, Dianne, of Fitchburg; six grandchildren, Renee M. Grenier, Michael C. Grenier, Mary Katherine Grenier, Jonathan Grenier, Christopher Grenier and Andrew Grenier; a second cousin, Terry Hennessy of Leominster; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by one brother, Norbert J. Fluet, and two sisters, Claire Gamache, and Sister Eunice Fluet of the Sisters of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
