He was born 22 Feb 1904 in Dorset, a son of Ralph & Grace Betts Gilbert & was resi-dent here since 1929. MrGilbert was a member of United Commercial Travelers. Prior to retir-ing in 1972, MrGilbert was a route salesman for Warren Sanitary MilkCo for 43yrs.
Survivors include his wife Lenora Keeling Gilb-ert, whom he married 1 Jan 1940; 4 children: Grace (sp-Daniel) Warner-GreeneTwp; Edna (sp-Howard) Weekley-Ontario CA; ThomasM-FowlerTwp; RaymondA-HowlandTwp; a sis: Alta (sp-Cyril) Allemeier-Buffalo NY; a bro: Charles-Cleveland & 11 grandchildren.

Surviving are 3 children: Charles Gilbert-Ches-terland; Merle Gilbert-Warren; Alta (sp-Cyril) Allemeier-Hamburg NY & 7 grandchildren. Her husband Ralph, preceded her in death in 1956. She was also preceded in death by a son Serenus.
Service will be conducted Sunday afternoon [8-26] at Lehnert Funeral Home-Jefferson. Officiant will be RevVal Won-Dorset United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Dorset Cem.

A retired employee of NY Central RR, MrGilbert had served 2 terms on the Dorset School Board; was a member of the Methodist Church & IOOF Lodge-both Dorset.
Survivors include his widow-Grace; 3 children: Alta Allemeier-Hamburg; Merl-Warren; Charles-Chesterland; & a sis: Georgie Amsden-Warren. A son: Serenus preceded him in death.
Service will be held Friday afternoon [9-21] at Lehnert Utterback Funeral Home. Burial will be in Dorset Cem.
