WICHITA - Services for Malcolm R. "Mack" Lee, 61, former labor leader and Democratic party chieftain and an official of the Wichita regional post office, will be Wednesday morning.
Lee died Sunday, July 11. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens here.
Lee was former chairman of the Sedgwick County Democratic party central committee and chairman of the Fourth Congressional District Democrat committee.
He was international repesentative and area director for UAW-CIO from 1942 to 1962 and headed the county Democrats in the late 1950s. In 1959, Lee was appointed chairman of the Unemployment Compensation Review Board by then Gov. George Docking.
From 1962 to 1968 he was chief of the employee-management branch of the Wichita regional post office, and in 1968 was appointed director of the industrial relations division. The following year he was named chief of the manpower resources and development branch.
He had been ill since earlier this year.
He is survived by his widow, Evaline, a son, a daughter, two brothers and two sisters.
