Former Chelsea Resident dies May 15 in Detroit
J. Eugene Stapish of Detroit, formerly of Chelsea, died Saturday, May 15.
Funeral services were held at St. Peters Catholic Church in Detroit and Burial took place at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Chelsea.
Born Sept (, 1898 in Chelsea, he was a son of Charles E. and Lenna Hollis Sapish. He was married to Alice Stoner and they lived in Chelsea for several years before moving to Detroit. She died Sept. 10, 1944.
He later married the former Mae Schneider and she survives.
Also surviving are 5 daughters and 5 sons.; Mrs. Genevieve Pedley, Joseph E. Stapish, Mrs. Ruth Krappetz. George E/ Stapish, Mrs. Ethel Manzer, Charles B. Stapish, John W. Stapish and Mrs. Patricia A. Tyitye; 24 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and two brothers, Ben C. and George Stapish, both of Chelsea.
