Mr. Rian was born Oct. 20, 1946, in Fergus Falls. He grew up and attended school near Rothsay, graduating from high school in Rothsay in 1965. He then joined the U.S. Army. Following his military discharge in the late 1960s, he farmed with his father near Rothsay until 1990, when he moved into Rothsay. He then worked on a farm near Rothsay for several years.
Visitation: Wednesday from 3 to 5 in Grina Funeral Home, Rothsay, and Thursday from 1 to 2 in Hamar Lutheran Church, Rothsay.
Funeral: Thursday at 2 in the church.
Burial: Hamar Lutheran Cemetery, Rothsay.
