Sarah Margaret Klinglesmith was the daughter of Levi Francis Klinglesmith and Mary Jane Cave. Her mother was the daughter of Benjamin Cave and Harriet A. Gibson, who were originally of Hart County, Kentucky where Mary Jane was born on February 8, 1846. At the age of 19 she married Levi Francis Klinglesmith, the son of Michael Klinglesmith and Margaret Horsley, on February 9, 1865.

Sarah Margaret was born on January 19, 1868. She died two days later on January 21, 1868. She was buried in the Hanging Rock Church Cemetery on Hanging Rock Road off of Highway #259 in Leitchfield, Grayson County, Kentucky. Her two day old sister Zuruiah Ann Klinglesmith preceded her there after her death on January 12, 1867. Her mother, Mary Jane Cave Klinglesmith, was buried there after her death on September 8, 1874. Also buried in this cemetery are her maternal grandparents, Benjamin and Harriet A. (Gibson) Cave. Her father, Levi Francis Klinglesmith, was buried in the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Grayson County after his death in Grayson County many years later on January 2, 1928.
