Funeral services for Margie White Calcote, of Monticello, were 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 2, at Wilson Funeral Home in Monticello, with burial in Pleasant Grove Methodist Church Cemetery in Brookhaven.
Mrs. Calcote, 84, died May 31, 2010, at her residence. She was born in Lincoln County on March 6, 1926, to J.C. Davis and Lura Beeson Davis.
She was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Grove Methodist Church. She was a guitar picker and singer, and played with the Davis Family group, and with her husband, Frank, for eight years.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her brother, Jay Davis; and her sisters, Adell Davis, Lavon Seals and Fannie Chesser.
Survivors are her husband, Frank Calcote; her sons and their wives, Elmer Ronnie and Dorothy White, of East Lincoln, Kenneth Wayne and Ann White, of Petal, her daughter and husband, Pamela Gail and Ken Blackwell, of Redding, Conn.; her stepsons, Hugh Calcote, of Monticello, and Keith Calcote, of Sontag; her stepdaughter and husband, Sharon and Bruce Leggett, of Monticello; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Manon and Josefine Davis, of Tylertown, and Johnny and Betty Davis, of Brookhaven; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Elaine and Leland Cude, of San Antonio, Texas, and Ann and Jimmy Rushings, of Tylertown; her grandchildren, Lance White, Clint White and Kristie Delaughter, all of East Lincoln, Ken White, of Silver Creek, Chad White of Lincoln County, and Aaron Blackwell, Kelly Blackwell Mack Blackwell and Nathanial Blackwell, all of Redding, Conn.
