On May 31, 2010, Edalph E. Blagmon, departed this life at the Delaware Valley Veteran's Home.

Edalph was born on September 29, 1924 in Essex County, Virginia to the late Tarsey Smith Blagmon and Esther Addie Williams Blagmon. He was one of nine siblings, of whom only two now survive.

Since he was a World War II Veteran, it is fitting that Edalph departed peacefully on Memorial Day.

Edalph attended Ebenezer Baptist Church in Supply, Virginia, where he was baptized. He attended public school in Essex County, Virginia and received his high school diploma.

He enlisted in the United States Army, where he served honorably in World War II. He was stationed overseas in New Guinea and the Southern Philippines and was the recipient of numerous medals.

Following an honorable discharge from the US Army, Edalph married his first wife, Sarah G. Fountain (deceased). From this union, his sons, Lowell and Wayne were born. He later moved to Philadelphia and married his second wife, Hattie Elsie Irby. Finally, he married his dedicated and devoted wife, Delores C. Blagmon (deceased), and became the stepfather to Delores' three sons, Larry, Wayne (deceased) and Donald.

Edalph was a quiet and gentle person, but his biggest passion was automobiles. He loved to repair vehicles. Edalph owned an auto repair shop for many years and was well respected in his community. Following his retirement, you would still find him repairing cars of friends or family members.

Before his illness, Brother Blagmon attended Calvary Baptist Church, where he was a member for many years. Brother Blagmon was also a 50-year member, in good standing, of the James W. Grant Masonic Lodge #131, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Edalph is survived by: his sons, Lowell E. Blagmon (Djuana) and Wayne V. Blagmon (Bobbie); his sister, Mary A. Jackson; his brother, Leonardus D. Blagmon; his brother-in-law, Lorenzo Cruger (Hattie); his step-sons, Larry Simmons (Roselle) and Donald Simmons (Vanessa); several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
