GRANDFIELD - Funeral for Wilma Jean Baskett, 65, Grandfield, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Gray Funeral Home Chapel, Grandfield, with the Rev. Ronnie Morgan, pastor, Tesca Baptist Church, Frederick, officiating.
Wilma Jean Baskett died Monday, June 7, 2010, in Grandfield.
Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery, Grandfield.
Mrs. Baskett was born Dec. 9, 1944, in Checota, to Winford Aaron and Rhoda Elizabeth Howe Cummins. She grew up in Grandfield. She loved to sing karaoke, and she was a hard worker and a loving mother. She married Bobby Joe Burke in 1965, in Vernon, Texas. She married Floyd Allen Baskett on Dec. 13, 1969. He preceded her in death on May 31, 1987.
Survivors include one daughter, Tammy Burke and Jesus Maldonado, of Grandfield; one son, Buddy Baskett and Karen Ibarra, of Grandfield; one sister, Claudell Stephens and husband, John, of Marietta; three brothers: Henry Cummins and wife, Stella; James Carl Cummins and wife, Sherry, and Aaron Ray Cummins, all of Marietta; seven grandchildren: Loranzo Rocha Jr., Ardmore; Jesus B. Angel, Grandfield; Whisper Nicole Burke and Robert Dale Burke, both of Ardmore; Ashanti James, Grandfield; Jessica Lee Warren and Buddy Allen Beaver, both of Beaver City, Neb.; one niece, Malinda Stuckey; and many other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Otis Lee Cummins; one sister, Wanda Sue Cummins; and a nephew, Richard Stephens.
