WASHINGTON, Ga., June 14 - Adolphus Sanford Richardson, 84, a leading citizen of Wilkes county, died at his residence Friday after an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held at his home Sunday at 4 p.m. with the Rev. Arthur Van Saun officiating.
He was born in Glenville, Ala., the son of the late Walker Richardson and Mrs. Elizabeth Sanford Richardson, and moved to Wilkes county with his parents when he was a child. After the death of his first wife, the former Miss Lila Mattox of Wilkes county, her married Miss Mamie Gorham, who survived him.
Besides his widow, he is survived by five daughters, Mrs. P. D. Baker of Chicago, Ill.; Mrs. John J. Wicker of Richmond, Va.; Mrs. John Allen [sic] Callaway of Washington, Ga.; Mrs. Joe Burton of Homestead, Ga.; Mrs. Milton Dyal of Surrency, Ga.; a son Samuel L. Richardson of Rayle, Ga., and a sister, Mrs. Samuel Lumpkin of Atlanta.
