GEORGE THOMAS [Tommy] ALLEN

TOMMY ALLEN, 19, FORMER RESIDENT, DIES IN ACCIDENT
George Thomas [Tommy] Allen, 19 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Hubert Allen of Buena Vista, former residents of Macon County, was killed instantly in an automobile accident at 6:45 am Monday on the Clayton-Louisville Highway near Louisville, Alabama.
The youth was enroute to his work at Andalusia, Ala., when the accident occurred and was traveling alone. Investigators said he apparently lost control of his automobile.
Born and reared in Macon County, Mr. Allen moved with his parents to Marion County three years ago. He was a 1965 graduate of Marion County High School.
Funeral services were held at 2 pm Tuesday from Cedar Valley Baptist Church, near Montezuma, where he was a member. Dr. A. C. Martin, pastor, and the Rev. W. M. Moore, Jr. pastor of the Buena Vista Baptist Church, officiated and burial was in the CEDAR VALLEY BAPTIST CHURCH CEMETERY.
Pallbearers were Charles and James Allen, Jimmy Belcher, Gene Longino, Stanley Goodrow and Richard Satterfield.
Survivors, other than his parents, are two brothers, Charles and James Allen, both of Fort Valley; a sister, Mrs. Larry Longino of Americus; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Johnnie Raper of Montezuma; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Allen of Pittsburg, Calif.; two nephews and two nieces.
