WAUKESHA FREEMAN, Thursday, April 22, 1920:
Edwin H. Hadfield died very suddenly of apoplexy Monday night at ten o'clock at his home, 522 Barney St. Although he had not been in good health for several years, he had been able to spend the last three winters in Biloxi, Miss. and since his return only a few weeks ago was seen daily on the street, greeting his friends and neighbors. Last Monday evening he was visiting with his family and his brother, Wesley Hadfield, and wife, stepping into an adjoining room and was suddenly stricken. A doctor was immediately summoned but help was ___vailing. He never regained consciousness but passed peacefully away.
Mr. Hadfield, or "Ted" as he was called by his friends, was born in Waukesha 59 years ago, Sept. 20, 1861. He was son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Hadfield. He was married to Miss Emma Field and for several years was engaged in the ___ and cement business in Minneapolis. He returned to this city over twenty years ago and has had his own manufacturing business for which he traveled trhoughout the county ___ in health. He was a genial man ___ and fond of a good story, a shrewd business man, a great lover of his home and to those who knew him intimately, a kind neighbor and friend. He leaves beside his wife, three daughters, Mrs. J. J. Imholz of Milwaukee; Mrs. R. A. Tassell and Miss Leola Hadfield, of this city, and one son, Ralph E. Hadfield of Milwaukee, and also three grandchildren, Hazel Imholz, Arthur Tassell, and Ralph James Hadfield. Three brothers, Abram and Charles, Chicago, and O. W., Waukesha, and one sister, Mrs. Elvin Aitken, Waukesha, also survive.
The funeral will be held this (Thursday) afternoon ___ 2:30 from the home, Rev. H. C. _ogan officiating; burial in Prairie Home cemetery.
