Mrs. Charles H (Emma R) Ward, a great great grandmother, and mother of C. Fred Ward, former member of the State Legislature and currently of the State Highway Commission, died last night at her home on Grove Terrace, after an extended illness. She was 95 years old, and had been a resident of Winter Park for nearly 60 years.

Mrs. Ward came to Winter Park with her husband, the late C.H. Ward, in 1885 and her children, Harold A Ward and C. Fred Ward, both of whom became prominent citizens of the City of Homes as their father had been before them. The Wards came from Montpelier, VT and Mr. and Mrs. C.H. Ward celebrated their golden wedding 23 years ago on a grand occasion.

She leaves her two sons, Harold A. and C. Fred Ward, 14 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services for Mrs. Ward will be held at 3 o'clock Tuesday at her home in Winter Park.

Mrs. Ward was a 59 year resident of the Winter Park area when she died at her home, 1539 Sylvian Blvd, of coronary arteriosclerotic heart disease and senility.

Her husband was Charles H Ward, who predeceased her.
