Mrs. M.F. Drennan 81, died last Wednesday morning at the home of Mrs. N.B. Fox, county, after a critical illness of the past ten weeks, after having failing health for the past several years.
Formerly Martha Ann Woolf, last surviving member of a long prominent family, born in the Iron Hill section she attended Old Olive Branch school and remained on the farm of her parents until marriage to "Bid" Drennan. She was the daughter of the late "Uncle Billy" and Matilda Woolf. After marriage the couple resided in the Iron Hill section until the death of Mr. Drennan, in 1918. Remaining on the homestead for a few years after death of her husband, Mrs. Drennan then made her residence with her children.
Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Victor E. Hillyard and Mrs. N.B. Fox, county; eight sons, Albert C. and Claude Drennan, both of Charleston, Mo.; William, David, Ben, Virgil, Ray, all of this county, and Guy Drennan, Marion. A son, Olvie, died in 1918.
Interment was in the church cemetery. The sons served as casket-bearers.
