William Columbus Redman, Journalist, son of William and Mary Ann Redman, was born in Little Rock, Arkansas

Son of William and Mary Ann Redman The family migrated to Texas in 1865, first living in Coryell County until 1875; moving to Mason County that same year.

William Columbus Redman married Annie Laura Wilhelm October 2, 1878 in Mason, Texas

WILLIAM assisted his family with the farm duties, drove cattle up the trail, and later became a printer

1882 William and Annie moved to "San Angela", now San Angelo,Texas.
San Angela was in the "DeWitt Colony" DeWitt named the town in memory of his wife, Carolina Angela, who died in 1866. The name had changed to San Angela by 1883.

1888,at Menardville William along with his brother, Jasper Redman purchased a printing machine and began publishing the "MONITOR" a weekly newspaper. The printing plant was located in the upper story of the old courthouse building in Menard County, Texas.

William and his family later moved to Fort McKavett,he established the "McKavett Breeze", which was short lived. He then loaded his printing plant on a wagon and moved it to Paint Rock, where he established the "Concho County Herald". In later years he was connected with newspapers at Llano, Brownwood, Comanche, Blanket, Dublin, McCaulley, O'Brien, and Bronte.

1923 he moved to Clyde, Callahan County, where he had fruit orchards.

William Columbus Redman died in Abilene, Texas.
