Tamson Ann Dix was the daughter of Col. William Dix of Revolutionary War fame. He owned a large plantation near the VA/NC border. They probably grew tobacco.

Tamson's mother was Martha 'Patsy' Hendrick Dix. Tamson had 5 brothers and 4 sisters.

The family story was that she and Samuel Adams eloped to get married - but we're not sure if that is true or not.

Tamson had twin girls: Mary Dix Adams and Mary Reeves Adams. One of the little babies died at one month old, and the other lived. That must have been very difficult for a mother to bare.

Sadly we don't know that much about her life. If anybody can add anything, please do. I'm not sure where she is buried or if she has a grave stone.
