Samuel was the son of: Joseph Samuel Adams & Elizabeth Seagraves.

His parents and siblings were all deceased by about 1811. He was the one survivor of this family that lived until old age. Taken in by the Vaden family, he became a successful tanner by trade, also a farmer, and at one time a very successful manager who accumulated a large estate.

He worked at one time as an overseer of a large plantation owned by his father-in-law Col. William Dix of Revolutionary War fame.

He was the husband of: Tamson Ann Dix

He was the father of:
1.Mary Reeves Adams
2.Mary Dix Adams
3.William Wilson Adams
4.Ann Tamson Adams
5.Samuel Chaplin Adams (the first one who was born 1834 not to be confused with William's child of the same name )

**** If anybody ever has an idea as to the location of where Sam's parents are buried then please let me know. His mother Elizabeth Seagraves Adams is probably in Virginia. We think she came back east with Sam to leave him with the Vaden family before she passed away. As for Joseph - he could be in Missouri, Kentucky, Virginia - just about anywhere.

Thank you to those who have helped me thus far in getting this family back together.
