Oscar Calvin "OC" Bentley, 83 of Phenix City, Alabama, died Friday May 28, 2010 at the Columbus Hospice House, Columbus, Georgia. Interment will be in Lakeview Memory Gardens. Serving as honorary and active pallbearers will be friends at Lakewood Baptist Church.

Mr. Bentley was born December 20, 1926 in Phenix City, son of the late Herbert D. Bentley and Vicie J. Baxter Bentley. He retired from the Ledger-Enquirer newspaper after many years of service. Mr. Bentley
was a member of the Lakewood Baptist Church, the church choir and the Sweet Spirits. Other than his parents he is preceded by his wife, Doris Beaty Bently, a step daughter, Virginia Dimmitt, brother, Charles Bentley and sister, Elizabeth Jean Paul.

Survivors include his stepson, Cummins Watson Beaty and wife, Brenda of Anniston, AL., grandsons, Gray Couch and wife Becky of Manchester, GA., Chan Beaty and wife, Laura of Springfield, MO., granddaughters, Amy Lane and husband, Scott of Powhatan, VA., Brandi Bouchard and husband, Dr. Rob Bouchard of Ft. Payne, AL., 9 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandson, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
