Born Oct. 8, 1908, in Washington to Charles Phillip and Stella King Zinser, he married Bertha E. Wageman on Oct. 18, 1930, in Washington. She died Jan. 20, 1974. He married Fern V. Wilkinson Snow on July 3, 1976, in Nashua, Iowa. She survives.
Also surviving are five daughters, Shirley Kemper and Patricia Connaughton, both of Washington, Mrs. Paul (Ramona) Mouser of Melbourne, Fla., Joyce Eakman of Dunlap and Mrs. Chris (Judith) D'Augostino of Chicago; one son, Richard of Tennessee; four stepsons, Bruce (Muriel) Snow Sr. of El Cajon, Calif., David (Judy) Snow of Fairbanks, Alaska, and Larry Snow and Harlan (Gayle) Snow, both of Clear Lake; two brothers, Rae of Kickapoo and Lloyd of Holiday, Mo.; 21 grandchildren; 15 step grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
One brother and one grandson preceded him in death.
He was an engineer working for the TP&W Railroad, now called the Santa Fe Railroad, for 44 years, retiring in 1972. He was a former member of Moose Lodge 1328 in Mason City, Iowa.
Burial will be in Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria.
