For 25 years, she taught elementary school, primarily as a fourth grade teacher at Chaparral Elementary School in the Claremont United Schol District.
Alice loved gardening and had a garden outside her classroom where the students tended plants and ate the vegetables they raised. She had a beautiful garden at her Claremont home.
Alice was predeceased by her first husband, Walter Kupfer. Alice married Robert Baker in 1982. They loved to travel and took many interesting trips in the U.S. and overseas.
Alice had one daughter, Judy Kupfer Stevens and has one granddaughter, Valerie Palmer, who shared a birthday with her.
Alice loved animals and was an excellent water color painter.
