As far as I can tell, his mother was Clarinda Philomena (Case) Harris, b. abt 1796 in Essex Co., NY who was married to John Harris. Clarinda was the daughter of Lemuel & Philomena (Kellogg) Case. The three Harris's are enumerated together in Ticonderoga, Essex, NY in the 1855 NY census, and then just the parents in 1860. In 1870, John Harris Sr is still there, while Clarinda is enumerated as C P Harris living next door to her son John K. in Harrodsburg, Mercer, KY where she apparently died in 1871. I have not determined where she is buried.
