Barton or Mac as people called him was born in Dundee Scotland on March 5th 1909. He came to the United States with his grandmother and two sisters, Anita and Helen on August 21, 1921. He landed on Ellis Island on the ship Algeria. His father was here in the states and his mother soon followed. His family settled in Woodside, Queens, NY, were his brother James was born.

Barton met and married Veronica Jabcobs in 1939. They had 3 children, James Crabb, Barbara Anita and Thomas. Barton worked for many years as a salesman for Saks Fifth Avenue Department Store in NYC. He enjoyed music, photography and spending time with his children and family. He leaves behind 2 children, 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
