Bowles, Jesse G, 86, of Connersville, Ind, died Thursday, December 20, 1990 at Heritage House Health Care Center in Connersville, where he had been a patient for several months. He was a native of Jackson Co, Ky, born April 8, 1904 to Harvey & Martha Baker Bowles. He graduated from the McKee Academy & had attended business school in New Albany, Ind. He was married September 6, 1930, in Owsley Co, to the former Ella R Venable, who survives. He had lived in Centerville & Connersville areas since 1936 & was a member of the Grandview Wesleyan Church. He was retired from the Joseph H Hill Company, Richmond, Ind, where he had worked as a florist &, after retirement, he did lawn & shrub service in the Richmond area.
Survivors include (in addition to his wife): two sons, Ralph Bowles, Parma Heights, Oh & Donald Bowles, Gate City, Va; two daughters, Betty (Cecil) Bell, Glenwood & Dorothy (Alwin) Carlton, Kingsport, Tn; three sisters, Edna Engle, New Albany, Grace Harless, De Funlak, Fla, & Anna Gilbert, North Industry, Oh; 16 grandchildren; & 23 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, Earl, four brothers & two sisters.
Funeral services were held Saturday, December 22, at the Justice Funeral Home, McKee, Ky, with Rev B Browning officiating. Interment followed in the Pilgrim's Rest Cemetery.
