Mr. Finnan Claybon was born in Lufkin, Texas, December 29, 1919 to Cary Claybon and Bonnie Selman Claybon. He was a graduate of Lufkin's Dunbar High School and Texas College in Tyler, Texas. In 1934 he united with the First Missionary Baptist Church of Lufkin.
Mr. Clayton served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1945 and was honorably discharged.
He resided in Tyler the last 25 years of his life.
On Wednesday, May 19, 1982 he departed this life in the VA Hospital in Shreveport, La. following an extended illness.
He married Laura Charlton in 1945 and to this union two children were born.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Cedric Buckley and Mrs. Vicki Sellers; father, Cary Claybon; granddaughter, Tracy Claybon; brother, Zelma Claybon; and a host of uncles, aunts, other relativs and friends.
