Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday In United Methodist Church of Lynwood for Jack Cleland, Lynwood newspaper editor and former Field Deputy for the late County Supervisor Burton Chace. Mr. Cleland died Tuesday of an apparent heart attack at the age of 58.
For 20 years, he was editor of the Lynwood Herald American, before accepting the executive position with Chace. He was editor of the Lynwood Press, a weekly Newspaper, when he was stricken,
Mr. Cleland is survived by his wife, Doris, of the Bellflower Family home; a Son, Gerald, of Glendale; daughter, Cleo Walton of Garden Grove; brother Thomas and sisters, Patricia Conn and Elizabeth Babcock.
Burrial will be at the Los Angeles Veterans Cemetery.
