Loree S. Couser of San Antonio, Texas, age 95, went to be with the Lord on Feb. 18, 2005. She received her BA from Baylor University in 1930 and her MA from the University of Texas at Austin in 1944. During her career of 45 years in education, she was an elementary school teacher in Dallas and later a special education teacher and an educational diagnostician in San Antonio. She initiated early special education programs in the Harlandale and Northeast School Districts. She was past Texas State President of Kappa Kappa Iota; a member of Delta Kappa Gamma; and a Sunday school teacher at Trinity Baptist Church. She loved to travel and had been an active tennis player and lifeguard in her younger days. She continued to follow current events with enthusiasm and was an avid reader. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Couser, and is survived by her daughter and son in law, Sallieann and Ronnie Swanner and her beloved grandchildren, John and Alice. Special thanks to the staff and residents of Morningside Ministries during Loree's final three years. Services will be held at a later date. Mission Park Funeral Chapels North.
