Only a few of his neighbors and best friends knew he was sick for his illness dated back only from noon the preceding day. The cause of his death was acute indigestion with which he was attacked Wednesday just after eating his dinner.
Obadiah Harrison Paris was born Nov. 5, 1859, died Nov. 15, 1917, age 58 years and 10 days. He was the oldest son of the late James W. Paris, by his first wife, who was Miss Prudy Ann James, a sister of Berry Sphinx and Smith James, all well remembered and respected people in their day.
The deceased belonged to a family of 12 children and is survived by two brothers, Hon. W.F. Paris, and Rev. J. Lewis Paris of Odessa Mo. One sister, Mrs. Martha Fralick of Mo.; half-brothers, R.S., Bunyan C., John B., Sam W., and Maurice Paris; three half-sisters, Mrs. Fannie Jennings, Mrs. Nellie Brown, and Mrs. Corda Moreland.
Mr. Paris was married Nov. 17th, 1886, to Miss Ella Enoch of this county who survives him with five children; three sons, Lester, Gilford, and Lawson and two daughters, Miss Virgie Paris and Nellie, wife of C.B. Sullivan.
