Final Services for Elder W.J. Covington - Obituary

College Grove, Tennessee, October 15 –
Funeral services for Elder William James Covington, 76, Pastor of the University Street Primitive Baptist Church in Nashville, who died Saturday night at his home here, were conducted this afternoon at the family residence of Elder Lytle Burns of Florence, Alabama.
Burial followed in the Sneed family cemetery near Brentwood.
Elder Covington had been active in the ministry for 39 years and held the number of pastorates in Middle Tennessee before becoming the pastor of the University Street Church 15 years ago.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Virginia Nance Covington, and six children:
Major William L Covington, Washington DC; J. Connie Covington, Atlanta Georgia; Mrs. E.E. Robbins, Henderson; Mrs. J. H. Pitman, Washington DC; Mrs. Charles J Oliver, Nashville and Mrs. Dwight H Johnson, Sheffield Alabama.
