Mary Etta Marshall, was born, reared and educated in Greenbrier County, W. Va, and she was a substitute teacher prior to her marriage. Her father, Rev. Dr. J. L. MARSHALL, was a pioneer physician and Baptist minister of Wyoming County, and the family belongs to the same branch as does the famous Virginia family of the name, to which President Martin Van Buren also belonged. Both Mr. and Mrs. Dan GUNNOE have been active participants in the work of the Baptist Church wherever they have been located. A home lover and true homemaker, Mrs. GUNNOE enjoys nothing better than entertaining her family, and was especially happy when, September 5th 1927, she and her husband celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary.
