Services for Mrs. Mary Elizabeth “Prissy” Carey Sellers, age 83, of Richton, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, December 7, 2014, at the Richton United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the Sunset Cemetery in Richton. Mrs. Sellers went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 4, 2014, surrounded by her family. She was the daughter of the late Floyd “Hooker” Carey and Leo Meadows Carey. She accepted Jesus Christ at the age of 11 and joined the Richton United Methodist Church where she was actively involved and served in many positions. She was a member of the Richton Home and Garden Club and the Richton Women’s Club.

She graduated from Richton High School, received an AA from Hinds Community College, BS and Masters in Business Education from USM, a Masters in Marketing from MS State University, and Masters in School Administration from the University of Mississippi. She enjoyed touching lives through teaching at William Carey College, Petal High School, Tupelo High School, Richton High School, and Jones County Junior College. She also worked as a Financial Director for Title IV A.

She was married for 60 years to the love of her life, the late Ernest Clyde Sellers. She was preceded in death by her sister Patricia Carey Kruse and grandson Matthew Rasberry.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the following: Richton United Methodist Church at P.O. Box 515 Richton, MS 39476, Kidney Foundation at www.kidneyms.org, and the Salvation Army at 5670 Hwy 49, Hattiesburg, MS 39401.

Visitation for Mrs. Sellers will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Saturday at Jones and Son Funeral Home in Richton and one hour prior to the service at the church on Sunday.
