The Lamar County Echo, July 1979. 'Mrs. J. W. (Bill) Duncan, 82, of Llano, died there Monday, July 2, 1979. Funeral services were held Thursday morning at Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel in Paris, with the Rev. V. O. Kyle officiating. Interment was made in Evergreen Cemetery.

Mary Amanda Biard Duncan was born in Biardstown on November 21, 1896, daughter of Charles H. and Ella McHam Biard, the Biard family being pioneer settlers of Lamar County. She was married to J. W. Duncan on December 31, 1921, in Paris, and they lived in the Viewpoint-Biardstown community until his death on June 27, 1962. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Biardstown. She attended schools at Biardstown and business school in Paris, and taught at Indian Academy in Fort Towson prior to her marriage.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. A. C. (Lillian Ruth) Burns of Paris, and Mrs. Martha Golightly of Irving; one son John W. (Billy) Duncan of Houston; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Biard; and one niece, Miss Charlsie Biard of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Pallbearers were Jack Francis, Homer Coleman, John D. Satcher, Edgar Stone, Harold Ray, and George Albert Williams.'
