James Harold Bevill, 71, a retired telephone company switchman of Lexington, died of a heart attack Wednesday, January 8 at St. Dominic/Jackson Memorial Hospital in Jackson.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 10 at Southern Funeral Home in Lexington with the Rev. Bobby Williamson officiating. Assisted by the Rev. Mike O’Brien. Burial was in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Lexington.
Mr. Bevill, a lifelong resident of Holmes County, was a World War II Army veteran. Before he retired, he was a switchman for South Central Bell.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel Bevill of Lexington; one son, Jimmy Bevill of Lexington; a daughter, Sherron Bevill of Greenwood; and two grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers were C. E. McNeer, Dusty Holeman, John Grantham, Raymond Davis, Mack Grantham and Harold Brock.
