Funeral service for Mrs. Ellon Faye Brown, 66, of New Site, will be Saturday, June 12, 2010 at 3:30 pm at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Rev. Donald DeLee and Bro. David Rozelle will officiate. Burial will follow in the Bethlehem-New Salem Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 11, 2010 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
Mrs. Brown passed away on Thursday, June 10, 2010 at her residence. She was born on February 2, 1944 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama to Walter Raymond Ferguson and Gladys Smith Ferguson. She was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church. She enjoyed flower gardening and canning vegetables. She was a good cook and was known for her homemade spaghetti, chicken stew, and biscuits. Mrs. Brown ran a home daycare and loved all of her kids. She especially loved her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Redge Brown of New Site; daughters, Kimberly Dawn Johnston (Wendell), of Alexander City, Tracie Michelle Reaves (Wayne), of Jackson's Gap, and Teresa Faye Droddy (Brandon), of Alexander City; son, Timothy Wayne Brown (Wendy), of Alexander City; grandchildren, Tasha Jackson, Jeff Brown, Ryan Brown, Lindsey Johnston, Lori Johnston, Brett Strickland, Savannah Strickland, Emily Brown; great-grandchildren, Bryson Brown and Macie Jackson; sisters, Eva Conville (Ronald), of Alexander City, Emma Jean Shivers of Kingsville, TX, Shelia Vaughn of Orange, TX, Lynita Johnson (Andy), of Montgomery, AL; brothers, Eldon Ferguson (Inga), of Roanoke, AL and Dean Ferguson of Ashland, AL; special friends, Katie Jones Maples and Christen Caldwell.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Jerry Donald Brown; and brother, Edward Ferguson.
